Collaborators
— Selecting the collaborators —
Double Exposures aspires to include a wide range of artists across generations and practices and the final selection of collaborators comes from a great pool of suggestions made by different voices, hopefully reflecting the vibrant environment of artists working with performance across a wide range of approaches in the UK.

— ‘Reversing the Gaze’ —
In dialogue with the Live Art Development Agency an initial selection was made of artists who collaborated with Manuel Vason on Exposures in 2002. At a second stage a further selection was made of artists who have worked with Manuel Vason at some other point in his career. In addition to this, the twenty-two organisational members of Live Art UK were invited to each recommend two artists based anywhere in the UK, whose work has most caught their eye over the last ten years.
The final selection of the artists working with the ‘Reversing the Gaze’ concept has nearly been finalised:
— ‘Double Image’—
The ‘Double Image’ artists in Double Exposures are collaborating with Manuel for the first time. They are being selected by Manuel following recommendations from UK based artists and promoters. The ‘Reversing the Gaze’ artists, who have previously collaborated with Manuel on Exposures, were each invited to propose five artists from a younger generation who had caught their attention over the last few years. Additionally, members of Live Art UK were each invited to recommend up to three artists who they felt were amongst the most significant to have emerged over the last decade.
The final selection has nearly been finalised and is comprised of practitioners from across generations, who had not collaborated with Manuel in the past and whose work centres on the body as the site and subject of their practice.
